Spiritual Musts: 4. Set Intention

The fourth step in your spiritual musts is intention setting.

Intention is everything. It’s the energetic compass that guides my work.

Before I begin any spiritual practice, whether I’m channelling, reading, or simply holding space, I always pause to set a clear and aligned intention. This simple but sacred act focuses my energy, aligns my frequency, and opens the path for what needs to unfold.

If I am preparing to channel, I consciously ask for my vibration to rise and meet the frequency of the being or energy I am working with. For example, when I connect with my Arcturian guide Al, I say:

“I ask for my frequency to match the frequency of my Arcturian guide, Al.
I surrender my ego and ask to be placed in a state of divine neutrality,
a state of being where I am the channel, the conduit, the voice.
I allow Al to speak through me.
May this communication flow clearly, with love, wisdom,
and for the healing and greatest good of all.”

In that moment, I shift into presence, releasing control and trusting completely. I’m not thinking, analysing, or interpreting. I'm simply being.

If I’m preparing for a reading, I shift the focus and set my intention to honour the client’s energy and spiritual team. I say:

“I have permission from [client's name] to connect with their energy,
their loved ones in Spirit, and their Spirit Guides.
I ask that clear, accurate, and loving messages come through.
Messages that bring healing, peace, and guidance for their highest heart.
May these messages come through all of my clairs; seeing, hearing, feeling, and knowing, and may I be a clear channel for whatever needs to be shared.”

I then invite their Spirit Team and loved ones into my sacred space, allowing our energies to blend and form a strong, loving connection. I hold that intention in my heart throughout the entire reading, trusting it will guide every message that comes through.

Why it matters:
Your intention is your anchor. It tells the Universe what you’re here to do, invites your Spirit Team to support you, and aligns your energy to receive. Whether you’re channelling divine beings, connecting with Spirit for a client, or meditating on your own healing—intention shapes the experience, strengthens your clarity, and ensures that your work always flows from a space of love and purpose.
